ScanNCut ~ Halloween & Thanksgiving Cards

I am trying all kinds of things with my new ScanNCut.  I decided to make a few cards, instead of just posting more cuts..........These cards were NOT meant to be works of art. They are just used to show you a bit of what the SnC can do.

The Boo I drew by hand and traced and cut....... the witches are free clipart found in Google images....... The stamps are by Savvy and Stampendous....... All papers used are from my scrap leftovers....... I just wanted to share the potential uses this great machine has. Enjoy............

Brother ScanNCut ~ 1st Attempts

I just picked up this machine yesterday at ABS Sewing & Vacuum in Vacaville, California. What a great Mom & Pop Biz....... they were almost excited as I was!!!  Lana provided great customer service and held the machine for me until I could get there later in the morning to purchase my ScanNCut.  It was a good thing I put a hold on the ScanNCut, because they sold all their machines before I could get there to pick mine up!!!  We are talking about one hour....... and poooooooof sold out!!!

You can contact ABS Sewing & Vac here:

Now on to my results.........  I haven't done much except watch a few videos and read the information posted on 2Peas..... I still have a lot to learn but here are my out-of-the-box results:

In this 1st pic....... I stamped, scanned and cut with 2mm margins.......  I used Ranger Archival Jet Black ink on several different cardstocks.  The orange ink is Terra Cotta by Colorbox:

In this 2nd picture..... the scans did not pick up and trace as well as the 1st group...... I needed to help the machine out by adding a light pencil line around the image in order for the ScanNCut to complete an outline trace.  I have no idea if this is usual performance as I haven't even read the manual yet.......  I will keep you posted :-)))  It should be noted that each of these stamps does appear to have a broken path in the outline......... UPDATE:  I took a pencil and lightly traced around the cupcake stamp in this pic and "closed the path"...... the SnC was able to scan, trace and cut perfectly!!!!!!!!!

Here is the thread on 2Peas I found to be the most helpful in deciding if I was going to purchase the ScanNCut:

Here are the videos that helped me to make my decision:

Slyn11 on the 2Peas message board has been great about sharing her out-of-the-box experience with her new ScanNCut......

So far, I give this new toy a B; and, as I read the manual and pick up hints from fellow users, I am sure that will change........

Many Thanks, Slyn :-)))

Here is my first attempt at clipart.......... I googled "free Halloween clip art"  and here are the results of my scan n cut:
